Renowned Hip-Hop Artist Arrested In Georgia

Legendary hip-hop artist Akon has been arrested in Georgia for contempt of court, following a case involving his suspended driver's license

Akon, whose real name is Aliaume Thiam, got himself in trouble when his Tesla Cybertruck broke down in the middle of the road in Georgia. For this reason, his license was suspended, and a case was filed against him in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Konvict rapper did not appear in court. Ever since, he has been driving around on a suspended licence until he was pulled over by the police, according to TMZ

Akon was spotted by the police in Chamblee Dunwoody Road, while standing nearby an automobile workshop, Tint World. He was taken into custody for an arrest warrant issued against him by the court. Besides driving on a suspended licence, an illegal vape was also found in his vehicle.

Upon his arrest, an officer revealed that the rapper was compliant and admitted that "he knew about the warrant." He was later released after spending six hours in custody. He was held at DeKalb County jail on November 7
