RB Leipzig Hold On To Draw Against Borussia Monchengladbach At Borussia Park
Borussia Monchengladbach missed the chance to secure a home victory against RB Leipzig, following a goalless draw, setting both sides back in the Bundesliga.
Leipzig had a fair share of control in the first half, but after the interval, they lost grip on the game. Both sides had equal chances of taking the lead, which Monchegladech should have had twice in the second half.
Franck Honorat received a lob pass in front of the box and rifled a shot into the net. The effort was later ruled out for offside by the referee. On another occasion, Leipzig avoided a penalty after a challenge on Shuto Machino. The referee called for a spot kick after consulting the VAR.
Leipzig's first chance of taking the lead came from Conrad Harder's effort from outside the box, forcing a save from Moritz Nicolas. The second occasion was from David Raum's effort. Yan Diomande played him in on a counter, and he struck the ball to clip the left top corner of the post. Yan was involved in both occasions.
Monchengladbach had remained unbeaten through the previous four Bundesliga games. Having to secure a goalless draw extended their unbeaten run to six games in all competitions.
