Rangers are already at the bottom of the UEFA Europa League standings. From their antecedent, Roma are more experienced side when it comes to the UEFA Europa League, and that came to play in the match. Roma pressed deeper into the Scottish side, even as the latter made efforts to counter the situation.
Matilas Soule's tap-in of a loose ball from flicker following a corner opened the scoreline for Roma. The second goal was a show of brilliance as Artem Dovbyk recieved a delivery from inside the center and set off on-rushing Lorenzo Pellegrini for a strike inside the box. The midfielder struck the ball neatly to beat Jack Butland to the net.
Ranger did not play it too loosely, but conceding two goals in the first half was a setback for the side. They were resilient after the interval, while Roma held off on chances of a comeback. While Roma reinforced the defense line, they yet came close to getting the third, but a toucline clearance blocked Manu Kone's effort midway through the second half.
