Oscar Piastri Takes Pole At Qatar Sprint Race Qualifier

Oscar Piastri secured his second Qatar Grand Prix Sprint pole position as Lando Norris suffered a setback on his final run, losing out to his teammate.

Currently, the F1 title is almost out of reach for Piastri, and he is even with another contender, Max Verstappen, on points. The Australian, who has not won a race since the Dutch Grand Prix, demonstrated strength against his rival in the SQ3 and finished quickest in 1:20.055 seconds.

Norris finished in P3. He dropped out of the pole position while exiting the corner on his final lap and swerved over the curb, running into the gravel. The incident canceled his lap time on his final run for violating the track limit rules. Already, he was trailing Piastri, and then, George Russell moved into the space, finishing in P2.

Meanwhile, Verstappen finished outside of the top five while Lewis Hamilton was eliminated in SQ1 on space. Fernando Alonso will start in the front after finishing in P4. The Aston Martin driver was a strong contender in SQ3, but his pace was not enough for the pole.
