Atalanta Sack Manager After 11 Games
Atalanta have announced the sacking of their manager, Ivan Juric, following the club's unimpressive performance since the start of the season.
Juric had only led the side to 11 games. He was appointed to replace former manager Gian Piero Gasperini in the summer, and Atalanta have not fared well since. They are currently 12th in the Serie A table, having lost 3-0 to Sassuolo on Sunday.
The club confirmed that Juric will be relinquishing his role as the head coach alongside his coaching crew, which includes Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Pablo Barbero, Stjepan Ostopic, and Michelle Orecchic.
"Atalanta thanks Ivan Juri and his staff for their 3fforts, and wishes them all the best for the future," said the club in a statement released via its official website.
Unlike in Serie A, Juric left the club in a plausible position in the Champions League, where they are in sixteenth place. They won their previous game against Marseille by 1-0 with a stoppage-time goal from Lazar Samardzic.
