Achraf Hakimi Wins African Men's Player of the Year

Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain player Achraf Hakimi has been announced as the CAF Men's Player of the Year, following his outstanding performance at both club and national levels.

Hakimi contended for the prestigious award alongside two previous winners, Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool). Last year, he finished as a runner-up, losing the trophy to Osimhen for his contributions at the club and national levels.

"It is truly an honour for me to be here today," said Hakimi in his speech. "I am proud of this prestigious trophy."

Last season, the defender had a successful season at Paris Saint-Germain, winning the Champions League and his fourth Ligue 1 title. In the same season, he added the Coupe de France trophy to his resume.

In a separate category, his compatriot, Ghizlane Chebbak, won the CAF Women's Player of the Year award. Another Moroccan, Othmane Maamma (Watfors), also made this list, winning the CAF Men's Young Player of the Year award
