Sean "Diddy" Combs To Appeal Sentence

Sean "Diddy" Combs and his legal team have reportedly revealed they will be appealing the prison sentence of the music producer and singer for his conviction on a two-count charge of transportation for the purposes of prostitution.

Diddy was sentenced to four years and two months in prison following his conviction in a New York court by Judge Arun Subramanian on October 3. Meanwhile, more serious allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering had been dropped.

An investigation was launched into the Bad Boy Records producer's private parties known as Freak-offs when the United States Homeland Security invaded his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, Florida. Following the many items recovered from his homes, the rapper was held in custody for the allegations against him in court.

Given the reason for the rapper's appeal, his legal team is expected to file for an appeal in weeks, according to TMZ. However, the team had argued that their client was meant to be acquitted of the charges. Alexandra Shapiro had argued that charges were not directly applied to his client.

Until his sentence, Diddy had been held in Brooklyn Correctional Center for a year. He had applied for bail twice but was denied as he was deemed too dangerous. On the day of his sentence, Shapiro pleaded that his client's sentence should not be longer than 14 months, asking the judge for leniency.
