Lando Norris Wins Mexican Grand Prix As F1 Title Race Heats Up

McLaren regained the podium top spot with Lando Norris winning the Mexican Grand Prix in a dominating race ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in second and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in third.

It was a chaotic start in Mexico, and Norris managed his Lane through the chaos, while Leclerc and Verstappen battled through Turn 1 for P2. Both Leclerc and Verstappen contended for supremacy through the laps as Norris led on to finish quickest. It was his first victory since the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Ahead of the final, Norris poled for the first time since the Belgian Grand Prix, edging out Charles Leclerc on his second run of the qualifying session. In the final, while his teammate, Oscar Piastri, was unable to negotiate his way through the lanes, he had a good reaction time to maintain the pole position.

Lewis Hamilton was given a ten-second penalty for swerving off track. He was faced with a contest for P3 with Verstappen on Lap 6. He locked up his car at the exit of the corner and left the track to gain an advantage to get ahead of Verstappen.

Piastri improved from P8 to P5. The McLaren overtook Mercedes' George Russell on Lap 60. He chased down Oliver Bearman for P4, but the Haas driver kept his track position for his F1 best performance and finished in fourth.

Having won the Mexican Grand Prix, Norris has become the new F1 World Championship title race leader with one point ahead of Piastri. Verstappen trailed the McLaren duo in third with 36 points.
