Crystal Palace Kick Liverpool Out Of Carabao Cup

Liverpool have been eliminated from the EFL Carabao Cup in the fourth round after losing to Brighton by 3-0 as Ismaila Sarr scored a brace to complete the routing.

Palace controlled the game as the Reds struggled through with the absence of key players, including Mo Salah, Hugo Ekitike, and Allison. The Reds dropped to 10 men in the latter stages following the dismissal of Amara Nallo.

Ismailia Sarr opened the scoring when he received a through ball that ricocheted off Liverpool's defender, Joe Gomez, inside the box and rifled home a left-footed shot into the net. Whilst Palace's domination persisted in the added minutes before the interval. Sarr received a through ball from Yeremy Pino inside the box and wasted no time before striking home the ball for Palace's second goal.

Yeremy Pino secured the victory for Palace, scoring the third goal in the 88th minute. Liverpool have remained winless back-to-back after losing their previous game in the Premier League to Brentford by 3-2.

Overview

It was a matter of time before the Palace would exploit the Reds' defense following multiple attempts. While Liverpool were forced to defend, Palace penetrated through the center and found the space to net two goals. Ismalia Sarr was well-positioned in the box and well-orchestrated the chances he had.

Palace had done their homework with a two-goal lead from the first half. Whilst they kept the Reds at bay, Glasner revamped his attacking frontline with Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Philippe Meteta. They remained offensive even as the Reds pressed forward. Hence, Amara Nallo received a red card for dropping Gordon in front of the box.
