Thiago Alcantara Returns To Barcelona

 

Thiago Alcantara has returned to football, not as a player but as a member of Hansi Flick's management crew at Barcelona. 

On Thursday, the former Liverpool player was appointed as a first-team coach for Barcelona alongside other members of the coaching staff, including assistant manager Marcus Sorg, coach Heiko Westerman, and goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic. 

Hansi was appointed to the club last season, and in his debut, he won a domestic treble - La Liga, Super Coppa, and Copa del Rey. His relationship with Thiago has been ongoing since last season. The former centre-back worked with him in preseason matches ahead of his debut season with Barcelona. 

Thiago had a successful spell as a player under Hansi at Bayern, where he won every European and Bundesliga trophy. Before his spell in the Bundesliga, he played for Barcelona, and he won titles in all competitions, including the FIFA Club World Cup in 2011.
