Newly-signed Martin Zubimendi Shines As Arsenal Thrash Forest At Emirates Stadium

Arsenal returned to the Premier League after an international break, and regained  winning ways with a clean sheet 3-0 home victory against Nottingham Forest.

Eberechi Eze made the starting lineup and he was impressive, after his debut in 1-0 loss to Liverpool. Gyokeres was also impressive at the front, but the plausible part of the game was Martin Zubimendi scoring a brace

Noni Madueke facilitated the opening goal from his corner that was headed loosely to Zubimendi's reach. The Spaniard defensive midfielder struck a 25-yard shot to beat Sels to the net. The second goal followed after halftime break. Calafiori's cross-pitch lob arrived rightly for Eze. He squared up a pass with Gyokeres, who tapped the ball home for the second goal.

Zubimendi scored his second goal, towering to get a header into the net from Leandro Trossar's cross into the six-yard box, following a free-kick. The midfielder was just signed to the club this summer in a six-year contract worth £55.8 million.

Unfortunately for Forest, they remained winless in three consecutive Premier League games since the new season commenced. Until the loss to Liverpool, Arsenal have remained unbeaten since May. They have only lost a game in previous 10 games.

Overview

It was a fairly dominated match for Arsenal and Forest had their moments, with near-scoring chances, particularly an effort that clipped the framework from Chris Wood. However, compared to Arsenal's, Forest had a difficult day.
