Kelechi Iheanacho Finds Hope After Sevilla Contract Termination
Kelechi Iheanacho has found a new club to continue his career following his sudden exit from Sevilla, and joined the Scottish Premier League side, Celtic on Deadline Day.
On Monday, Sevilla confirmed the termination of the player's contract following a mutual agreement with club, in a statement released on X former known as Twitter.
"An agreement has been reached with Kelechi Iheanacho to rescind his contract," the statement reads. "Best of luck for the future, senior man."
Iheanacho joined the side as a free agent in the bid to bolster the Spaniard's attacking frontline. Unfortunately, he could not turn the tide for the club and struggling to score goals. Eventually, in January, he was loaned to Middlesbrough, subsequently, leading to his contract termination for the same reason.
On Tuesday, as the summer transfer window was close to winding up, Celtic signed the 28-year-old to a one-year contract with an option to extend the contract for a year. He now will reunite with his former manager, Brendan Rodgers, whom he left at Leicester City to join Sevilla as a free agent.
