Carlos Alcaraz Routs Novak Djokovic To Reach US Open Final

Carlos Alcaraz has made it to his second US Open final since 2022 following the defeat of Novak Djokovic in a semi-final showdown in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-2 at Artur Arne Stadium

Djokovic lost to the second seed for the first time in a Grand Slam this season as his opponent got his revenge on him. Alcaraz was eliminated at the Australian Open and Wimbledon by the four-time champion, who won the US Open in 2023 and his last Grand Slam since then.

Alcaraz faced the strongest resistance in the second, when Djokovic saved a break in a rally from 0-30 to lead by 5-4. The Spaniard leveled on his serve and later forced a tie-break

He maintained his stronghold of the tie, winning a sublime baseline rally to lead 5-4, and wrapped it up with two more set points. The second set was more of a cruise for Alcaraz, who was dominant and broke twice en route to winning the match point.

Meanwhile, Djokovic was interminently attended to by his trainer for a body massage. Apparently, the former champion was dealing with physical issues, but he fought on without asking for a timeout. The final would have been the Serbian's 11th US Open final appearance. However, he yet has the biggest final appearance with 10,

Alcaraz remained unbeaten in every set of the rounds played in the championship. Having to defeat Djokovic was his first this season, and he will be making his first US Open final appearance. He will face either Jannik Sinner or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final.
