Ballon d'Or 2025: Ousmane Dembele Wins As Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe Miss Out
France international and Paris Saint-Germain striker, Ousmane Dembele, has been announced as the winner of the Men's Ballon d'Or for 2025.
Dembele, 28, won the prestigious award on the backdrop of his contributions to leading Paris Saint-Germain to win the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League title. He contended for the Ballon d'Or trophy alongside players such as Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Mohamed Salah, and Vinicius Jr.
The striker was followed by Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal in second place. In the earlier category, Yamal was voted the Best Young Player of the year, retaining the Men's Kopa Trophy, which he won for Barcelona and his country, Spain, in 2024.
Dembele led PSG to win the European continental title for the first time in 2025, defeating Inter Milan in the final. In the same season, he led PSG to win the Ligue 1 title, contributing 51 goals in all competitions. As a consequence, he was voted the winner of the Ligue 1 Player of the Year.
In a separate category, Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, won the Men's Johan Cruyff Trophy for his performance in the UEFA Champions League, leading the Ligue 1 side to win the competition.
