Alexander Isak, Manuel Akanji Complete Transfers On Deadline Day

As the summer transfer window comes to a close on Monday, Manuel Akanji has completed his loan transfer from Manchester City to Inter Milan, and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak finalised a transfer to Liverpool

Akanji's transfer was a season-long loan contract with Inter. However, it also included an option to buy out for €5 million. The player is understood to undergo his medical upon his arrival at the club.

Inter made a move on the Swiss international following Benjamin Pavard's departure from the club to join Marseille. Akanji was deemed to replace his role in the right centre-back. Ahead of the transfer, Akanji did not make the lineup for Manchester City in their 3-2 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Isak joined Liverpool for a British record fee of £125 million. The contract is expected to last for six years, and the player is set to earn £300,000 weekly. The contract breaks the previous club-record signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool.
