Xavi Simon Completes Transfer to Tottenham

Tottenham have secured Xavi Simons' transfer from RB Leipzig, and the player has undergone his medicals as talks reached an advanced stage.

The Spurs have missed out on some highly sought-after players such as Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White. The former Palace player, Eze, has completed his transfer to Arsenal, and Gibbs-White is committed to Nottingham Forest and signed a new three-year deal with the club.

Meanwhile, Spurs are keen to replace James Maddison, who will be out of action for most of the season due to an ACL injury. To that effect, Xavi is the club's suitable replacement for the injured English attacking midfielder, and the contract is expected to be completed soon.

Earlier, Chelsea were in the race to sign the Dutch player, but opted out to focus on other sought-after players, and Spurs took the chance. He is understood to have signed a five-year contract plus a two-year extension option, according to Sky Sports

As his transfer has been completed after passing his medicals, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the RB Leipzig player is signed to a deal worth £51.8 million. Upon his arrival at the club, he will be a relief for the Spurs over the exit of Heung-min Son, and it will make up for Maddison.
