Victor Boniface Agrees Loan Move With AC Milan

Bayer Leverkusen have closed in on a loan transfer for Victor Boniface to AC Milan, and the player has reportedly verbally agreed on the deal with the Italian club.

Boniface was in stellar form in his debut season at Bayer, leading the team as the top goalscorer with 14 goals in the Bundesliga. Initially, Milan were linked to Manchester United forward, Rasmus Holjund, but later switched interest to the Nigerian, who is understood to be set to undertake his medicals, according to Italian reporter, Fabrizio Romano.

The Serie A club has offered the player a loan fee of €5 million, and that includes a buy-out option set at €24 million. The clause is understood not to be mandatory for Milan; however, the contract is set to run until 2030.

Since the Italians have switched commitment to signing Boniface, that leaves the race to sign Holjund to Napoli, whose striker, Romelu Lukaku, has picked up an injury. With the Belgian ruled out, that increases the chance of Holjund joining Napoli this summer.
