Oscar Piastri Poles As Norris Trail In Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying Session
Oscar Piastri returned to the grid after the F1 break, taking the pole at the Dutch Grand Prix by one hundredth of a second quicker than his teammate, Lando Norris, for a McLaren one-two front row start in the final.
The final practice session was chaotic for drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Lance Stroll. The Ferrari driver spun at Turn 3, and Stroll raced into the gravel. It turned out that the situation repeated itself for Stroll in the qualifying session, as he drove again into the gravel at Turn 13 and retired from the race/ in Q1.
Norris put up a strong resilience against his teammate in Q3, but could not set an improved time on his second run, even as Piastri could not improve past his earlier time on his second run. Both drivers had been on loggerheads for dominance from the final practice, which Norris led. Eventually, Piastri turned the tide in the qualifying session for his fifth pole position of the season.
Isack Hadjar maintained his impressive outlook from the final practice, where he finished in ninth position, and delivered a stunning performance in Q3 of the qualifying session, finishing in P4 for his career best. The RB driver outpaced Mercedes' George Russell, who finished behind him in fifth.
Lewis Hamilton finished seventh behind his Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc. The seven-time champion tried to improve on his second run, but fell short of his earlier time and trailed his teammate.
