Manchester United In Talks With AC Milan For Rasmus Holjund's Move
Manchester United are reportedly in talks with AC Milan for a loan move for their striker, Rasmus Holjund in this transfer window.
Holjund might have been impacted by United's recent signings. As the club's leading striker until now, the signing of Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, both of whom are strikers, will obviously limit his relevance to the team. More so, he was not used in United's pre-season friendlies against Fiorentina.
United are understood to be considering a season-long loan deal with Milan, which is believed to include an option for a permanent deal clause. Meanwhile, United would reportedly prefer a permanent deal for the Danish player. However, at this stage, a loan deal with a buy-out option is on the table.
The deal is expected to be worth £40 million, despite the player's desire to stay at Old Trafford. However, he would struggle in the team with the signing of Sesko, who was the top striker at RB Leipzig, and likewise Matheus Cunha, at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Having to either sell or loan the Danish player was imminent, as Marcus Rashford left to join Barcelona on loan, which included a permanent deal option, followed by Alejandro Garnacho's imminent exit to Chelsea.
United are restructuring the team's attacking frontline, and Ruben Amorim is potentially working toward a completely different squad from the one he took over from former manager Erik ten Hag.
