Manchester United Finalise Benjamin Sesko's Transfer From RB Leipzig

Manchester United have completed the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, to a five-year contract worth more than £73 million.

United have now completed their fourth signing as Alejandro Garnacho is set to leave the club. United were not alone in the race for the striker, who preferred a move to Old Trafford, despite Newcastle's approach. The Magpies had offered a £70 million bid, which United outbid even as the player's favourites.

"The history of Manchester United is obviously very special," said Sesko, speaking of his choice. "It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfill all of my ambitions."

Sesko left the Germans as the side's highest goalscorer in all competitions last season. He will be the second striker signed by United after Matheus Cunha. Three of the four players signed by the clubs are offensive players, giving an impressive outlook to the clubs' attacking frontline next season.

United had to spend big to complete signings for the players, as Cunha's contract will cost the club £62.5 million, and Bryan Mbeumo's fee was £71 million. It is understood that they have agreed to an upfront payment of £66.6 million, and the remainder to be as add-ons worth £7.6 million.
