Hugo Ekitike, Chiesa Shine As Liverpool Beat Bournemouth On Premier League Opening Day

Hugo Etikite was signed to Liverpool from RB Leipzig this summer and scored on his debut game for the Reds

Liverpool returned to the pitch, winning their Premier League opening game against Bournemouth by making a comeback to claim a 4-2 victory.

The Reds' new signings, Hugo Etikite and Federico Chiesa, scored on their debut even as the Cherries made a comeback through Antoine Semenyo's brace. Cody Gakpo doubled the lead after the former RB Leipzig forward's opener, and Mohamed Sallah closed the scoring streak.

However, the Cherries were able to expose lapses in the defending champions' defense. Semenyo delivered two brilliant strikes that beat the Reds' defense. Both goals came through a counterattack when the Refs were vulnerable, leaving Semenyo to capitalise on the advantages.

Though Reds restored the situation in the stoppages, it was thrilling and nerve-wracking for the hosts. The outcome extended the Reds' Premier League unbeaten run on opening day to 13 games.
