Fantastic Four: First Steps Maintains Box Office Summit As gross Slows Down

After an impressive first weekend, things appeared to cool down for the Fantastic Four: First Steps on its second weekend, even though it retained the top spot on the domestic market chart. First Steps grossed a fantastic $117.6 million on its opening weekend, and in the international market, it performed even better, raking in $216.7 million globally.

Last weekend was humbling, with a 66% drop in gross to rake in $40 million from the domestic market. However, the gross was enough to position First Steps at the top of the box office chart. It beat newly released films such as The Bad Guys 2 and The Naked Gun to the position and also surged in the global market to $368.7 million.

Superman took a 44% drop in sales to gross $13.9 million on its fourth weekend. Domestically, its gross is impressive at $316.2 million, and globally, it has passed the half-a-billion-dollar milestone with a worldwide gross of $551 million. Following in fifth position is Jurassic: World Rebirth. The evolution-inspired film is the fourth most successful film this year with a worldwide gross $766 million. However, it dropped 34.1% on its fifth weekend, grossed $8 million domestically.

For the newly released film, The Bad Guys was second, grossing $22.2 million, while The Naked Gun grossed $17 million. Outside of the top five is F1: The Movie. It grossed $4.1 million on its sixth weekend, and globally, it has grossed $546 million.
