Wimbledon: Jack Draper, Novak Djokovic Are Through To Second Round
British number one, Jack Draper, claimed a convenient three-set victory against Sebastian Baez, who walked over in the decider to be eliminated by 6-2, 6-2, 2-1 at Wimbledon.
Sebastiam could barely find his footing as Draper dominated, converting the five break-point advantages he had to secure his place in the second round. He joined other British players, who had a successful opening round.
In a separate match, Novak Djokovic fought through an epic four sets to eliminate Alexandre Muller in the opening round by 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-2 at Wimbledon.
The seven-time champion reached the final of the championship back-to-back without winning after losing on those occasions to Carlos Alcaraz, who became the youngest to win the trophy back-to-back. Djokovic improved to 40-in-42 matches at the Centre-Court.
As Djokovic bids for his eighth title at Wimbledon, he is also contending to extend his ATP Tour-level title streak to 101. However, he is within a century of match victories at Wimbledon after 98th from Muller's defeat.
