Liverpool, Eintracht Frankfurt Agree On Fee For Hugo Ekitike Transfer

Liverpool have advanced their negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt over the signing of Hugo Ekitike and have secured an agreement for a deal worth £79 million was reached between the clubs.

Hugo became sought after by the Reds after the breakdown of talks with Newcastle on Isak Alexander's transfer. Meanwhile, the Magpies were also linked to the French player, but Frankfurt rejected their offer, leaving the Reds as the leading bidder for the striker.

With an agreement reached, Arne Slot found a suitable replacement for Darwin Nunez, who is keen on leaving Anfield this summer. Besides the striker, Luiz Diaz is another player who has been linked to Bayern Munich. Liverpool, however, did not accept Bayern's bid of £58 million offered for the Colombian forward.

Besides Luis Diaz and Nunez, there are rumours that players like Harvey Elliot and Ibrahima Konate might also leave Anfield in this transfer window.

Amid the imminent transfer to Anfeld, Hugo has a year left in his contract with Frankfurt, to which he contributed 20 goals last season. However,wage-wise, his transfer will be rewarding as he is set to earn as much as £250,000-a-week, which puts his annual salary in the region of £15 million.
