Chelsea Are Winners of FIFA Club World Cup

Chelsea are the Fifa Club World Cup winners following a 3-0 defeat of Paris Saint-Germain in the final, with Cole Palmer contributing a brace to the goal-streaks.

The Premier League side secured the three-goal lead in the first half, while their Ligue 1 counterparts wasted the opportunities to take the lead in the early stages. Ousmane Dembele caused a few scares in the second half, but he was too late to make any resounding impact on the Blues' defense.

Within a space of eight minutes, Palmer scored twice from a similar position inside the box. Mateo Gusto set him up with a pass inside the box for the first goal, and he curled the ball into the bottom right of the post. The second goal followed on the half hour from a similar position and curled the ball down bottom right.

Palmer set up the moment for the third goal, playing in Joao Pedro, who sunk the ball over on-rushing Gianluigi Donnarumma and landed the ball into the empty net.  PSG later dropped to 10 men following the red card offense of João Neves with five minutes remaining.

PSG are the defending champions of the UEFA Champions League, and were the favourites to lift the trophy, considering a player like Dembele, who is favoured to be voted as Ballon d'Or winner. Conversely, Chelsea left the Ligue 1 side stunned, 2inning their first FIFA Club World Cup.
