Novak Djokovic Defeats Cameron Norrie To Set Up Quarterfinal Showdown With Alexander Zverev
Novak Djokovic has reached a century of match victories at Roland Garros, claiming a sensational win against British favourite Cameron Norrie in the fourth round and progressing to the quarterfinals.
Norrie had a difficult day against the Serbian and was eliminated in three sets by 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. Djokovic has maintained a clean sheet since the start of the tournament. He converted 7-in-11 break point advantages and served 26 winners.
"It's another victory, but it's obviously not finished here for me," said Djokovic when asked about his new career milestone. "I'm happy to add to the history of this sport that has given me so much. I hope there will be another win in a couple of days."
Djokovic reached a career milestone of a century tour-level title victories at the Geneva Open. He is set to face German veteran Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals.
Zverev won the fourth round match against Tallon Griekspoor in two sets, 6-4, 3-0, as the Dutchman retired in the second set after consulting with his physiotherapist over a persistent pain in his body.
The German has never won a Grand Slam title in his career. He reached the final of the last edition and was a set from winning his maiden trophy in Roland Garros before he lost out to Carlos Alcaraz. He will face Djokovic in the quarterfinals of this edition.
