Lando Norris Wins Final Practice As Oscar Piastri Punctures Car Right-Rear

FP3 of the Canadian Grand Prix was a little challenging for McLaren's Oscar Piastri, running his car into the walls ahead of the qualifying session in Montreal.

Piastri damaged the suspension and punctured his car's right-rear tyre from the incident. He was exiting the turns when he ran over the curb and collided with the walls. Safety car was deployed and he retired from the practice as a consequence and made it to the pit.

The practice sessions have been dramatic with Charles Leclerc crashing his car in the second practice, and later on, Lewis Hamilton spun his car over over poor grip. Though the Ferrari had the better part of the final practice but Lando Norris topped the session for McLaren, finishing fastest in 0.078s ahead of Leclerc.

Mercedes' George Russell showed resilience earlier in the session to be quicker than Norris. In the end, he was beaten by the McLaren driver and Leclerc. Lewis Hamilton was fourth for Ferrari on the circuit, which he had won seven races.

Max Verstappen had a low-profile practice session on the track he had won for three consecutive seasons. He finished the final practice in fifth and will be defending the race in the final on Sunday.
