Thunderbolts Loses Box office Top Spot To Warner Bros. Newly Released Film
Warner Bros. is scoring big with its new film releases. Like Minecraft and Sinners took the chart by storm, Final Destination: Bloodlines is following in its footsteps, making an impressive debut by topping the box office with huge earnings across the markets.
Bloodlines received a warm reception over the weekend, and it made $51.6 million on opening weekend. It made huge earnings in the international market, grossing $54.1 million from foreign territories. It surpassed its predecessor, Sinners' opening weekend gross, and also its budget of $50 million. Globally, its worldwide cume is $105 million.
Last week, Marvel's Thunderbolts sat atop the box office chart on its second weekend. Though the film is a huge success for Walt Disney and a success that has surpassed one of the studio's The Incredible Hulk, as its second-biggest film, Bloodlines knocked it out to take the top spot, and the film's directors, Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, are already considering a sequel.
Bloodlines topped the chart in the United Kingdom, shoving Thunderbolts behind in second and Sinners in third. In the mix of this big power play amongst films, Mineceaft maintains its box office presence in fourth with a moderate domestic gross of $5.9 million on its seventh weekend. However, Hurry Up Tomorrow did not get the clout like its weekend peer, grossing $3.3 million on opening weekend.
Thunderbolts was second on the chart with $16.6 million in gross. Globally, its worldwide gross is $325.7 million after three weekends, making it more successful than The Incredible Hulk and it is the second Marvel's big scoring film after Captain America: Brave New World.
