Novak Djokovic Gets Perfect Start To French Open
Novak Djokovic kicked off his campaign in Roland Garros with a sensational victory against American opponent, Mackenzie McDonald in the opening round by 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
Mackenzie did not stand a chance with Djokovic, converting his only breaking point at 5-2 40/15 in the second set. Besides that moment, the Serbian dictated the match conveniently, winning a match point on Mackenzie's backhand error.
"Coming into Roland Garros, it feels different than compared to the feeling I had three weeks ago," said Djokovic. "Let's see how far I can go, but I have a good feeling for now."
Djokovic is a three-time champion at Roland Garross. He won his 100th ATP tour-level title (that excludes his Parus Olympic Games medal) at the Geneva Open on Sunday. Until Geneva, Djokovic had only reached the final in Miami Open, which he lost to Jakub Mensik.
