Manchester United Fall To West Ham At Old Trafford

Manchester United faced a tough 2-0 loss against West Ham United in their latest Premier League clash. The visitors struck first with a goal from Tomás Soucek's assist, and Jarrod Bowen extended their lead following a fast break.
Soucek's goal came after a well-placed assist from Kudus, with Soucek's left-footed shot finding the bottom right corner of the net. The second goal followed in the second half, Manuel Ugarte lost the in the centre for the opposition to latch onto, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross inside the box found Bown for a tap-in from close range.
Manchester United ramped up their efforts to make a comeback, but were faced with resilience from West Ham's defense. Rasmus Højlund had a few chances, but his attempts were either blocked or saved by the West Ham goalkeeper.
Just as United's winless run extended to its seventeenth Premier League game, their home defeat in the competition also extended to its ninth game, making it their most in a single season since 1962/63.
Overview
Having to lose further complicated United's position in the table, they are guaranteed to avoid relegation, owing to the points they lead away from the red line. That being said, the Red Devils did not impress and barely could get past Hammer's defensive line, which they had the right build-ups to.
On the other hand, Hammers were composed and sharper, breaking through the centre to build the necessary pressure to tear down United's defense, which led to goals. Ranus Holjund struggled to make something out of the chances he had. Instead, he forced saves from Areola.
Amad Diallo was another player still finding his place in the team since his return from injury. Though he was prominent in the earlier stages, that later waned as the side struggled to establish control of the game. West Ham were the better side and rightly defended the lead in the latter stages as pressure built up from United.
