Yoanes Wissa's Acrobatic Effort Secured Point For Brentford in Comeback Against Arsenal

Yoanes Wissa celebrates scoring Brentford's equaliser against Arsenal.

Arsenal failed to secure a home victory against Brentford, who came from behind to force a 1-1 draw, sharing the spoils with their hosts.

Although Arsenal blew Real Madrid away by a 3-0 victory in their European competition encounter, they performed below their midweek outing at Bernabeu by sharing points against Brentford. However, Arsenal controlled the game until the second half when Brentford turned the tide and scored a goal for their efforts.

Declan Rice inspired the fast break leading to the goal that set Arsenal ahead after the halftime break. He latched onto the ball through the midfield and played in Thomas Partey and struck the ball home from inside the box.

Least of what Arsenal would have expected was that Brentford would seize a set-piece to restore level terms. After a corner was cleared into safety, Michael Kayode lobbed the ball back into the box, landing rightly for Collins to nod into Wissa's path for an acrobatic finish, and David Raya was beaten to the goal.

By and large, Arsenal should have won the game, but a couple of neat chances were wasted when Bukayo Saka had rounded Flekken. He left it late to finish for a defender to clear the ball into safety. Saka's second attempt at the goal with a curly shot narrowly missed the bottom right of the goal. He came in to replace Ethan Nwaneri when the Bees had taken over the midfield from the Gunners.
