Rasmus Holjund's Goal Rescue Man. United To Draw Against Bournemouth

Rasmus Holjund celebrates scoring the equalizer for Manchester United against Bournemouth

Rasmus Holjund came to Manchester United's rescue with an injury-time goal that forced a comeback to draw 1-1 against 10-man Bournemouth.

The Cherries had the game in hand, even though they were not impressive enough to dictate the pace. On the other hand, United made efforts long enough to earn the draw. However, they could have done better had some chances been converted, particularly Bruno Fernandez's shot that clipped the framework.

Antoine Semenyo set the hosts ahead in the first half, when he blasted home a cut-back from Evanilson following a defensive flop from Dorgu. It took United until an injury before they found the equalizer.

Luke Shaw set off the build-up leading up to a loose ball from Manuel Ugarte's shot rolling into Holjund's path, and the striker rifled home a right-footed shot from inside the box.

The draw extended Bournemouth's winless run to seven in the previous eight Premier League games. Yet, they are better off in 10th than United, who are 14th in the EPL table.

Overview

Bournemouth needlessly lost Evanilson to a red card in a tackle that was too rough for him to take. Nevertheless, they were resolute in defending their lead over United. Despite the flop that led to the Cherries' goal, Dorgu was still a prominent player, making impactful overlaps to help out at the front.
