Manchester United Fight Back To Oust Lyon In Extra Time, Progress To UEL Semifinal

Manchester United edged out Lyon in a 5-4 comeback victory in extra time, winning the tie by 7-6 on aggregate. and progressed to the UEFA Europa League semifinals. 

United took the lead in the 10th minute through Manuel Ugarte's goal, which was set up by a brilliant team move involving Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho. The hosts doubled their lead just before halftime when Diogo Dalot scored with a precise shot.

Lyon pulled one back in the 71st minute through Tolisso, who seized a moment from Casemiro's poor clearance to pounce a goal into the net. Nicolas Tagliafico capitalized on a clumsy moment in front of the box and blasted home an equalizer from inside the box. 

As the game progressed into extra time, the tie turned in Lyon's favor when Cherki scored in the 105th minute, and Lacazette added another with a penalty in the 110th minute to give the French side a comfortable lead. However, United refused to give up.

In a stunning turn of events, Kobbie Mainoo scored in the 120th minute, and Harry Maguire sealed the victory with a header in the 120th+1 minute.

The winning goal from Maguire will be the first 120+ minutes goal in UEFA Europa League history. The remarkable match was unmatched in intrigue and arguably the first match in the Europa League to witness five goals in extra time.
