Manchester City made an incredible comeback to defeat Crystal Palace 5-2, led by Kevin de Bruyne after the visitors took a two-goal lead in the first half.

Palace's counter-attacking strategy paid off with an opening goal in the early stages. Ismaila Sarr's curled delivery across the face of the City's goal was swept home by Eberechi Eze at the far post. Chris Richards doubled Palace's advantage in the 21st minute with a header from close range at a corner.

Manchester City pulled one back in the just after half an hour when Kevin De Bruyne curled a free-kick past the Palace wall and into the net. Just three minutes later, Omar Marmoush smashed the ball home through to level the scores.

The second half saw City taking control of the match. Mateo Kovacic scored his first goal for City just after the break, and James McAtee doubled their lead just nine minutes later with a clinical finish following Ederson's lob for a counter. Nico O'Reilly's volley from just inside the penalty area wrapped up the victory with the fifth near the closing stages.

City restored their winning form after playing goalless draw against Manchester United last weekend. The comeback victory was their second win in six previous games in the Premier League game.

Overview

Palace's brilliant early start did not last as they should have maintained it. Initially, City's midfield was taken advantage off, leaving Eze and Sarr capitalise on the attack to take down City's defense. It was a shoddy start for the hosts.

Kevin de Bruyne led the comeback and his experience was enough to build the confidence that got City revamped. They maintained possession to slow down Palace's readiness for aggressive football and gradually built up pressure to break the visitors' defense. The quick change of approach paid off with Kevin de Bruyne spearheading the team.
