Liverpool Crowned Premier League Champions After Thrashing Tottenham At Anfield

Liverpool secured the 2024-25 Premier League title with a resounding 5-1 victory over Tottenham, bringing their league title total to 20 in the club's history.
With four games remaining for the champions, Arne Slot claimed his first Premier League trophy in his debut season with the club. He replaced former German manager Jurgen Klopp, who won the silverware for the Reds in 2019/20. It will be Liverpool's second in five seasons.
Liverpool came from behind from a goal deficit and completely overran the Spurs, taking down their defense to take the lead. It was perplexing for Tottenham to concede those goals in a championship match.
Tottenham took the lead in the 12th minute through a well-crafted goal by Solanke. His header from James Maddison's cross was precise and powerful, catching Liverpool's defense off guard. However, Liverpool responded swiftly in just four minutes through Diaz's tap-in of Szoboszlai's cross for the equalizer.
Mac Allister's effort put the Reds in the lead, curling a 20-yard shot into the top of the post for the side's second goal. After half an hour, Cody Gakpo added in the third with a neat finish as Liverpool fully dictated the game.
Mohamed Salah seized a fast break from Szoboszlai's through pass to score the fourth. He latched onto the ball, dropped the shoulder for a defender, and smashed home a left-footed shot from inside the box. The match was all but sealed when Udogie scored an own goal in the 69th minute. Alexander-Arnold's cross from the left flank was deflected by Udogie, and the ball went past Vicario into the net.
Arne Slot became the fifth manager to lift the trophy in his debut in the Premier League after Jose Mourinho in 2004/05 with Chelsea.
