Jadon Sancho Leads Chelsea's Comeback To Draw Against Ipswich Town

Jadon Sancho scores the equaliser as Chelsea draw against Ipswich Town at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea made a comeback from behind to draw 2-2 against Ipswich Town at Stamford Bridge as the Blues continue to drop out of the top four.

Ipswich took the Blues by surprise, overriding the midfield to burrow into the box and wasted no chance to take the lead by two goals. Cucurella's overlapping proved productive for causing an own goal while contending in front of the goal. After all, Chelsea can catch a breath by undoing the flops from the first half.

The match began with both teams creating scoring opportunities. Ipswich Town's Julio Enciso scored the opening goal in the 18th minute. ben Johnson latched onto the ball in a contest with Cucurella and squared the ball with Encisco for a tap-in. Ben Johnson doubled their lead in half an hour with a header from Encisco's cross...

Minutes after the halftime return, Chelsea's fortunes changed when Axel Tuanzebe scored an own goal, contending for Noni Madueke's low-cut cross. The turning point came in the 78th minute when Jadon Sancho scored a crucial goal for Chelsea, curling the ball into the top corner from inside the box.

Overview

Nicolas Jackson could have set the pace from the earlier stage, but his attempt struck the framework. Chelsea's defense was punished for leaving room for Ipswich to attack. Cucurella's position was capitalised on by the opponent as the defender often overlaps. However, he later undid the flops.

The combination of Ben Johnson and Encisco was a trouble for the Blues. They were both involved in each other's goals, and the understanding of the game was impactful until Chelsea revived the team after the halftime break.
