Everton Share Spoils With Arsenal

Leandro Trossard celebrating his fifth goal for Arsenal in the Premier League this season

Everton shared spoils with Arsenal in a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park following a penalty that canceled the Gunners lead before the halftime break.

It has been a difficult week for Everton resolving their winless run. They returned from the international break to lose to Liverpool earlier in the week - though the Reds can be an uphill challenge for any side. Before the game, they had been winless in their previous five Premier League games.

Arsenal seized their early domination to move ahead as Gana's floppy header set off a counter for Raheem Sterling to play in Leandro Trossard, who struck a low-cut shot down bottom left.

Trossard was near doubling his goal tally but forced a save from Pickford and Declan Rice struck the rebound wide. Everton restored level terms after halftime break as Lewis-Skelly dropped Harrison in the box for a penalty. Ndiaye sent Raya diving wide, striking the ball into the net.

Everton maintain position in the EPL in fifth place, but remain winless against Arsenal in five encounters. Arsenal in a comfortable position in second behind Liverpool, who are poised to lifting the Premier League trophy.
