Enzo Fernandez Sets Chelsea Ahead To Beat Tottenham In London Derby

Tottenham's trip to Stanford Bridge for a London derby against Chelsea fell short of their expectations, after losing 1-0 to the Blues, who moved to the top four of the Premier League and their fourth winning streak over Tottenham.

Chelsea went on the international break with three losses from their last six Premier League matches. However, with both Manchester City and Newcastle matching that defeat tally, the Blues held onto fourth place, despite their indifferent form. Chelsea's last eight Premier League games featured four home wins and four away losses.

Enzo Fernandez set Chelsea ahead in the second half with the goal that decided the game following Cole Palmer's cross, which he nodded home.

The game was tough, challenging, and a physical derby. Chelsea pressed deeper into Tottenham's 18-yard box, having Sancho in the position to set the side ahead. Great stops from Vicario kept it all square while Jackson tried to find the right ball to cause a scare.

Tottenham could have regained level terms if not for P.M. Sarr's rough tackle on Caicedo, leading to his goal being canceled. The Spurs struggled to break Chelsea's defense against the Blues, who maintained a staunch defense.

Tottenham have remained winless through four consecutive Premier League games, plummeting the side down the table to 14th with 34 points. The Spurs' miserable campaign persisted with a whopping 16 points separating them from the top six. Meanwhile, Chelsea regained its position in the top four with 52 points.
