Arsenal have likely given up on the pursuit of the Premier League title. With 12 points behind Liverpool after the mid-week game with Crystal Palace ended 2-2, the title pursuit is now almost out of reach. Oliver Glasner's men, however, successfully shared the spoils with fellow capital opposition. Palace have not been able to win away from London Premier League derbies.
The Gunners played confidently until after halftime. Palace became resurgent, and bringing on Mateta paid off. The forward rightly read the situation as William Saliba fumbled on the ball and wasted no time, capitalizing on the chance to score.
Bukayo Saka would have set the Gunners ahead with the third upon his substitution but forced Henderson's save instead. The winger afforded himself space for a header instead of crowding up the box. Though he did not get a goal, his brilliance upon substitution was spectacular.
