Mickey 17 Tops Box Office In the UK, US
Like in North America, Mickey 17 made a plausible debut at the box office by topping the charts in both domestic markets. Internationally, the film received a warm welcome even from the director, Boon Joon-ho's home country, Japan grossing a total of $32.4m.
Mickey 17 overtook Universal's Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, taking the chart's top spot in the UK. The fantasy adventure film raked in £2-1m in its first weekend in the UK. In Japan, it earned its highest domestic gross of $24,5m while in the United States, it grossed $19.1m.
It conveniently outperformed its contemporaries like Rule Breakers, Lost in the Land, and The Rule of Jenny Pen. Globally, the film has been a huge success recording $53.3m on opening weekend.
Captain America: Brave New World followed Mickey 17 in second place in the United States racking in $8.5m in its fourth weekend. The Walt Disney's film has been a huge success with its gloss gross at $317.2m.
