Mickey 17 Drops As Novocaine Makes Box Office Top Spot

 


Novocaine gave a little boost to the box office gross over the weekend likewise other films including Mickey 17 which dropped to second behind Ben Berk and Robert Olseen's film. Mickey director, Bong Joon Ho received an Oscar for his recent film Parasite at the just concluded Academy Award ceremony earlier this month. 

Amongst films making a debut over the weekend, Novocaine notched the chart summit grossing $8.7m, leading the way for other debuting films in the top 10 of the box office chart like Black Dog ($7.5m), The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie ($3.17m), and The Last Supper ($2.8m). 

Though Mickey 17 dropped to second, it maintained a strong performance in the domestic and international markets. It raked in $7.5m pushing its domestic cume to $33.2m. Meanwhile, in the international market, it added $23m to its global gross which is now over $120m.

In the fourth position was Captain America: The Brave New World which maintained its presence in the top five with a gross of $5.47m on its fifth weekend. With that, the film's domestic cume increased to $185 million - internationally, it has earned more than $388 million. However, for films like The Last Supper, only domestic gross was recorded since it only made domestic premiere.
