Chelsea Secure Hard-Fought Victory Over Leicester

Chelsea edged past Leicester City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge following Marc Cucurella's strike on the hour. The Blues extended their unbeaten run to a fourth consecutive win in the Premier League, solidifying their position in the top four.

The first half was tightly contested with both teams making efforts to create scoring opportunities. Chelsea's Cole Palmer missed a penalty while Leicester's Jamie Vardy threatened the Chelsea goal on several occasions.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 60th minute when Cucurella scored a precise, low-driven shot into the bottom-right corner of the net. The Spanish full-back's goal marked his fourth goal of the season, proving to be an important moment in the match.

Leicester pushed hard for an equalizer in the closing minutes but Chelsea's defense held firm. Palmer's penalty miss was his first in the Premier League, and Chelsea claimed its first back-to-back victory since December.

Overview

Leicester showed great discipline against their hosts but that was not enough to stop the Blues from taking the lead after the deadlock lasted through the first half. Palmer's well-taken penalty forced a save from Hermansen. The English attacking midfielder had a fairly impressive time on the pitch but could not pull off goals from the chances he had.

Chelsea were fired up in the second half and Cucurella's overlapping to help out in the frontline paid off. The Italian player sometimes finds an unusual moment to deliver to Chelsea and that has proven to be impactful.
