Callum Hudson-Odoi Leads Forest To Crucial Victory Against Manchester City

Nottingham Forest took home an interesting victory and consolidated their place in the top four. Manchester City lost to the hosts in a thrilling late stunner from Callum Hudson-Odoi, furthering endangering the Premier League defending champions' position in the top four.

City had a difficult day at the City Ground stadium. Erling Haaland barely could force a save from Matz Sels neither could Bernando Silva nor Phil Foden worked out the space for the Norwegian to get into scoring range.

Eventually, Forest broke through late into the second half as Morgan Gibbs-White played in Hudson-Odoion on a counter and the striker struck the play into a difficult angle. Onrushing Ederson missed getting his hands on the ball and Forest took the lead.

The goal secured the victory for Forest. It was the the hosts first victory against Manchester City in 30 years and they maintained their place in third with 51 points.

Overview

Forest pulled off the unexpected hence thei victory. It was a matter of minutes as City could not find enough space to cause significant scare in Forest's box, leaving Erling Haaland a little frustrated. Kevin de Bruyne substitution was meant to revamp the attack but Forest maintained a good attitude in the defense.

Hudson-Odoi had since the first-half been of considerable worries to the Citizens' defense. He had earlier forced a save from Ederson, who he later beat to a difficult angle. It was not that City's defense was a flop, rather it was a moment of brilliance on a counter from Forest.
