Barcelona Top La Liga After Thrashing Osasuna

Holding La Liga leader, Barcelona, made an impressive return from the international break to take on Osasuna. The fixture was rescheduled after the sudden passing of Barcelona doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia. However, they thrashed their opponents, Osasuna 3-0 at home to extend their table lead. 

Though the Blaugrana played aggressively has the fixture was scheduled so early after the break, and they also played to honour Garcia by extending an imperious game unbeaten streak in the league, still handing them the advantage in the title race, as victory here sent them three points clear of defending champions Real Madrid.

Osasuna came under onslaught sooner than they would expect to trail by a two-goal deficit in the first half, and Robert Lewandowski wrapped it up with the third by the closing stages of the second half. Barcelona was all over the visitors even as they were relentlessly searching for goals. 

Ferran Torres slides in for Balde's cross, tapping in the ball from close range. The second goal followed 10 minutes after Olmo converted the penalty. The spot-kick was saved initially, but the VAR awarded a retake. Lewandowski completed the scoresheet, nodding home Lopez's cross following a counter. 

Hansi Flick’s men were full of confidence after avoiding defeat in any competition since December, while they’ve also won the last four at home.
