Seagulls Soar To Victory Over Manchester United
Brighton & Hove Albion secured a stunning 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, marking their third consecutive Premier League game win at the iconic stadium.
Brighton kicked off, quickly taking control of the proceedings and Yankuba Minteh struck the opening goal following Quomah Baleba's lob, setting off a fast break leading to the goal. Manchester United leveled the scoresheet when Fernandes slotted home a spot kick after Zirkzee drew a penalty.
After the halftime break, Brighton built up pressure to regain the lead, which Mitoma delivered by tapping home Minteh's cross inside the box. The goal compensated for Joao Pedro's goal, which was disallowed earlier by van Hecke's foul on Dalot. The Seagulls' lead was extended by another goal, as Georgino Rutter stoled an Onana's poorly saved ball and steered home the winning goal.
Manchester United pushed to get back into the game, but Brighton's defense held firm, and the Seagulls secured a historic 3-1 victory at Old Trafford. The defeat, however, extended United's home Premier League game loss to sixth.
Overview
United gradually slid into despair after an impressive start to the game, which they should have made the most of in the first half. Besides finding faults, United did a great job until the interval when the Seagulls took the game to another level.
To some extent, United's defensive flop handed out the winning goals to the Seagulls. Mitoma's came off as a combination of bright efforts, however, Rutter's came off as a shoddy understanding between Onana and Matthijs de Ligt.
