Draws For 2025 AFCON Cup In Morocco Announced

 

As countries count down to the AFCON Cup in Morocco, the draw for the tournament which will kick off in December was announced on Monday, with the trophy holders, Cote d'Ivoire drawn against arch-rivals Cameroon. 

Cote d'Ivoire won the continental trophy defeating Nigeria in a comeback by 2-1 at the 2023 AFCON Cup and became the champions of the competition which they hosted.  Meanwhile, the Ivorians narrowly made it past the group stages but they became serious contenders in the knockout stages. To the surprise of other contenders, they emerged as the Champions over favorites such as Nigeria.
