Chelsea Secure First Win of the Year With Thrilling Victory Against Wolves

 

Chelsea secured their first three-point haul of the year with a thrilling 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.

With the Blues having the upper hand in the earlier stages, Tosin set the pace by scoring the opening goal from the edge of the box. Wolves responded with the equalizer but in the added minutes of the first half through Doherty, who poked into the net Cunha's cross. 

Cucurella restored Chelsea to the lead on the hour poking into the net Madueke's cross from the right flank. Madueke sealed the win with a close-range header in the 65th minute, securing all three points for the Blues. 

Chelsea's victory marks a significant turning point for the Blues, who struggled to find footing in the Premier League in the past year. With this win, Chelsea will look to build momentum and have now climbed back to the top four on the Premier League table. The loss was a setback to the Wolves' moving clear of the relegation zone as they are on the brink in 17th position.
