Amad Diallo's Heroic Hat-Trick Saves Manchester United From Brink

Manchester United claimed well-deserved maximum points from an incredible comeback to defeat bottom-placed, Southampton 3-1 at Old Trafford following a breathtaking hat-trick from Amad Diallo.

The match began with Southampton displaying confidence and cohesion that belied their status as Premier League basement dwellers. Kamaldeen Sulemana and Tyler Dibling proved to be a handful for United's defense, with Leny Yoro struggling to cope.

United trailed Manuel Ugarte's goal following a corner before halftime. The Red Devils managed to undo the deficit with a comeback that quickly canceled out the Saints' lead. However, it took until the latter stages for United to get back into the game

Amad received a pass from Zirkzee on the right wing and latched onto the box to strike in the equalizer. He followed with the second goal, latching onto Christian Eriksen's lob into the crowded box tapping in the ball.

Saints set off the third from a defensive flop between the goalkeeper and Harwood-Bellis culminating in Amad stealing the ball from the defender and striking the ball into the empty net.

Manchester United's hard-fought victory over Southampton with whom they have remained unbeaten in the last 16 games in the Premier League. Amad's hat trick puts him in  United's history book as the youngest player to do at Old Trafford after Wayne Rooney.

Overview

An excellent game for United and a well-deserved victory by a fair margin to compensate for their effort. They did not get the best start to the game as the Saints showed resilience, which paid off with an opening goal. Nevertheless, Ruben Amorim made the right adjustments to the team, and the substitutes' impacts were felt especially Christian Eriksen compensating for the lapses in the midfield, leading up to his delightful assist to Amad..
