10-Man Man. United Edge Arsenal In Penalty Shootout To Progress To Next FA Cup Round


Manchester United secured a thrilling 5-3 victory over Arsenal in a penalty shootout to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup. The match lasted through the extra-time after a 1-1 draw on stoppage time, with both teams creating scoring opportunities throughout.

Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli had his goal disallowed for offside in the first half before Bruno Fernandes was denied a free kick. It was a hard-fought game as both sides struggled to control the game. Upon their return from the halftime break, United's Diogo Dalot was shown a second yellow card for a reckless challenge on Arsenal's Merino leading to his red card. 

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes had set the Red Devils on course with a delightful finish to Garnacho's assist inside the box. Arsenal capitalized on the numerical advantage, with Gabriel's volley beating Bayindr to the goal. 

Since the extra the went through in a draw, the game was to be decided in a penalty shootout. Manchester United's goalkeeper Altay Bayindir made several crucial attempts and saved Kai Havertz'sspot kick. The Red Devils eventually emerged victorious, winning the shootout 5-3.

Manchester United's victory over Arsenal marked a thrilling conclusion to a closely contested FA Cup tie. The Red Devils' resilience and determination ultimately paid off, as they advanced to the fourth round of the competition.  

Overview 

An interesting game from the start. Arsenal sort of make up for Bukayo Saka's absence with Raheem Sterling, making the right flank effective. However, that was not to say that the Red Devils were hopeless through the game despite playing one-man down. That put a lot of pressure on United but that managed through to the stoppage time. 

Bayindr brought his finest goal-saving skills into the game, stopping Declan Rice's goal-bounce efforts twice was plausible. Zirkzee's late counter was another moment for United to seal the game. Deligt's touchline clearance was another remarkable moment that kept United in the game. Fernandez's goal saved the day for United to go the distance.
