Vinicius Jr. Wins FIFA Men's Player of the Year Award
Brazil and Real Madrid winger,Vinicius Jr. has been named the 2024 FIFA Men's Player of the Year at the annual ceremony held in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday.
Vinicius missed out on this year's UEFA Ballon d'Or which Manchester City's Rodri won. Winning FIFA's Best Men's award complimented his contributions to his club's successful campaign in the Champions League and the domestic league last season.
Rodri was the runners-up to the FIFA Best Men's Award and in third was England and Real Madrid forward, Jude Bellingham. The Brazilian winger joins the likes of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Romero who are also winners of the award from his country.
Spain and Barcelona youngster, Lamine Yamal received the Golden Boy award while Spain's Aitana Bonmati was named FIFA Women's Player of the Year.
Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti was named best men's coach of the year. The Italian manager received the men's best coach for the Ballon d'Or. Emma Hayes received the award for best women's coach of the year.
